MEDITATION IS MEDICINE
MEDITATION
comes from the Latin word "medicare" meaning "to heal")
Meditation is the act of stopping all activity,
going into a quiet space,
closing your eyes,
going within yourself
And bringing your breathing and your mind
to calmness.

"Heaven is within you." Luke 17:21
How do you get to Heaven?
Meditation!
"He that dwells in the Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under the
Shadow of the Almighty."
Psalm 91:1

THE SECRET PLACE IS WITHIN US!
"The Kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:21
We are in the Presence of God.
So visit GOD through meditation!
"He that
dwells
in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the
Almighty." The secret place is our minds, our conscious inside of
us-where nobody knows what we think or feel except us-our SECRET PLACE- there
is where we find Peace, solutions, or as the Easterner says "the city of
Brahman" or as the Christian says, "the Kingdom of Heaven" the
Buddhists-"Nirvana" or "Bliss" and "eternity"-Modern physicists say that the
universe is really a reflection of what is seen within us, the City of Brahman
says there is where are the stars, the moon, the sun and no age, timeless, no
disease, no loneliness, all beauty and peace" ALL POWER- "under the Shadow of
the Almighty." Now do you see why mediation comes from the Latin word-"to
heal"? )
Meditation heals the mind
and brings peace of mind.
The word, meditation comes from Latin meaning
to heal.
Meditation is the act of stopping all activity, going into a quiet space,
closing your eyes, closing out all sounds and distractions, going within
yourself. The goal in meditating is very simple: to bring your breathing and
mind under control. We become calm.
Our thinking becomes clearer. And healthy thinking helps our health! Meditation
opens our minds up and gives us a chance to look inside. Expands our mind
space. Opens it up wider. Makes more room inside. Clears the space. Gets
rid of unhealthy thoughts, worries, and other garbage that’s lying around.
Brings God into conscious contact with us. Brings peace and calmness.
Helps us find answers to our problems. Leaves us open to new ideas.
Opens our minds up even wider to bring in new things. Brings about successful
decisions. Relieves stress and fatigue. Restores our youth and vitality.
Gets rid of fears and anger and makes us stronger.
When we clear our minds through meditation we clear so to speak our work
bench. We have room to work in. An uncluttered work space. We
think clearly. We are open to new ideas. We are relaxed.
Good decisions come from a calm mind. Our judgments are more accurate.
We are not likely to be disturbed by people and things around us. Meditation
brings us into contact with our inner peace which is always there. The
more we meditate the more we keep in contact with that inner peace. It
becomes permanent; we begin to change and mellow out!
How
does meditation
work miracles in our lives?
When our minds are calm, God’s Presence opens up more and more. This “God
Presence” gives us feelings of- Peace. Strength. Hope. Happiness.
Kindness. Self confidence. Security. Alertness. Mental
Alertness. Health. Wonder. Joy. Creativity. Brightness. Our
entire bio-cardio system slows down. Our blood pressure drops and
stabilizes. Our hearts get stronger. We experience youthful vigor.
Rejuvenation and healing occurs.
As
we go through the day our minds begin to fill up.
The mind begins to tighten up. Our blood pressure rises. Stress occurs.
We feel strained or anxious or tired. Worries multiply. Anxiety!
Fear! Resentment! Temper flare ups! We get pissed off easily!
“Thin skinned”
Our
“buttons get pushed”
Take a “time out”.
“Pause when agitated or doubtful”.
The
moment we “take a time out” or a short meditation, we begin to feel calm
again. That’s because the mind is opening up and we are letting go of
useless fears, and anxieties. We have a moment to take care of
ourselves. We can do a checkup on what’s bothering us during the
meditation. See what’s bothering us.
Just let the worries appear. See what’s bothering us, making us angry.
See the fears. Then as the Big Book instructs us “we ask God at once to remove
them.” And if necessary “talk it over with someone at once.” Don’t dwell
on the thoughts. Meditate. Pray. Ask for help if necessary. Don’t
allow anger or fear to continue running around in your house destroying your
peace of mind and pushing God out!!! Don’t allow the thugs to take over your
house!!
If
we don’t meditate we don’t open our minds and clear them out.
We
don’t experience peace. We don’t “take a dump” by ridding the unwanted
thoughts through meditation. We get constipated in our minds. Our minds
get heavier as we keep dwelling on the same thoughts. Our head feels like it
has a vice fastened on it.
As
the day progresses we get - more irritated - more fearful - more angry - more
tired as our minds continue to shut down. The mind is shut off to new fresh
ideas. It is closed to help. The body is under stress and we need
relief. We are stuck in a rut.
Medical science has
proven that stress and heart attacks
are caused by cluttered and agitated minds. Resentment and worry can
cause heart trouble and even cancer! (See “You Can Heal Your Life”
by Louise Hay. See Amazon.com)
Meditation relieves us of stress
and
brings us serenity!
When we get up meditate. Clear out the mind by inventory. Ask God
to take everything. He will give us back what we need. Don’t we ask Him
“Give us this day our daily bread.” Why do we need anything more in our
minds than what we need for that day. Let alone anything more than what we
need at any given moment.
The less baggage we are carrying around in our heads, the freer we are.
The healthier we are. The less likely we are to come down with illness!
The happier we are. The less likely bad things will happen to us. The
less stressed out we are. We can not get new ideas or peace if the mind
is cluttered.
Meditation is simple !
1.
Find a quiet space. Relax. Close your eyes. Say a prayer asking for
God to be with you.
2. Breath in and out. Listen to the sound of your breathing. In and out. Do
this for at least 20 minutes. (and be patient, just sit for 20 minutes even if
you aren't in a totally relaxed state. You are trying to discipline your mind
so you have to start somewhere! It took me a month to get 20 minutes to sit
still; now I can go for an hour)
3.
As you do this, let your thoughts pass - like you are watching a movie.
Watching our thoughts is how we get in touch with who we are. The
thoughts are us. And when we allow ourselves to watch them, the ones that are
not healthy will eventually dissipate. Pray when you are having difficulty.
Ask God to help you get through a difficult thought. Eventually let go of the ones
you don't want. They disappear over time.
Just like that! Your thoughts can't hurt you. Just like a movie can't hurt
you. Some other things you might want to do after you've tried this for awhile
-
Pray. Or use a mantra (a saying or word which you can repeat to keep
your attention on it). Use music if this will help you.
-
Go for longer periods of time. The longer we meditate, the longer the more peace we will get. The more strength
we will get. The more our problems will sort themselves out. And
disappear. New ideas will begin to appear.
-
Talk to yourself. Talk
to God!
In meditation we can ask anything and an answer will come to us either
right then or later on. Put what ever your worrying about in your
meditation and ask what you should do; then give it to God or the universe.
"The Kingdom of Heaven is within you." Luke 17:21 "He that dwells in the
Secret Place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty."
Psalm 91:1
Our body is the temple of
the Holy Spirit! So meditation is a way of cleaning out the Temple. And when the
temple (or conscious is clean) we will have room to think, have peace, joy and
health.
"The Kingdom of Heaven is within you." Luke 17:21
So visit it through meditation!
HAVE SOMEONE READ THIS TO YOU OR MAKE A RECORDING OF IT:
“In the day when I cried you answered me
and strengthened me with strength in my soul” Ps.138:3
And the Lord replied ~
"PEACE
COME TO YOU"
Peace come to you my child; stay
with me;
that sweet repose may come unto thy soul and
I will love thee forevermore my child~
For thou art mine and I will never leave you
For I love you have loved you will always love you
For my love my sweet tender child lasts forever
And is strong and knows none other than to love
For I am love I am the Lord thy God
Thy Lover Thy Father Thy Maker Thy Protector
I am Who always am For I AM
And you are always mine my sweet sweet child of mine
O how I Love You
Peace Peace Peace
Be still Be still
I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS
The longer we meditate,
the longer we spend time together! His Presence will transform the
entire mind or house with his golden glow and radiant peace. It will clean the
walls, dust out the cobwebs, energize us. His Presence will bring with
it CALMNESS- PEACE. Right thinking will come to us.
God's Presence which is truth, peace, light, happiness, solutions, strength,
love is in our House (MIND). "All of these things you will experience
after awhile. When these occur you will be undergoing the healing
process. The longer you stay in Presence the longer the
Healing will have an affect on you.
Day after day if you keep
at this, you will feel yourself getting
stronger. You will begin to know yourself. You will rediscover
your Youth. You will get more energy. Your blood pressure will drop. You
will begin to relax during situations which used to set you off. And anytime during the day,
we can go into a quiet time or meditation.
MEDITATION RESTORES OUR HEALTH!
"Take no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the
things of itself. For your Heavenly Father know all that you need. Seek you
first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these things will be added." Mathew 6
Where do we look for "the Kingdom of Heaven"?
"Look not yonder, for the Kingdom of Heaven is within you." Luke 17:21
Some of these are the benefits that the Bible
gives us on meditation; they are found in Psalm 91:
Psalm 91: Tells us what will happen
for us in meditation:
"He that dwells in the secret
place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the
almighty."
"I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him
will I trust. (God will protect us)
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the
noisome pestilence. (God will change things around us)
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that
flieth by day; (He will guide us from wrong ful intentions and enemies)
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction
that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but
it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy
habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy
dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a
stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon
shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will
set him on high, because he hath known my name. (God will restor us with His
Love)
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
